Second Cheese Cake adventure
Ok, with some time to spare on Friday night, I embarked on a revolutionary way of making cheesecakes...
Well... not really.. but its quite a big jump for me!
I used a more advanced recipe .. and it took me until close to midnight to get everything into the refrigerator to cool... and I used this morning to finish it up...
but... Mmm mm mmm.. I had one for breakfast and it was Heavenly!!... Well, self-praise is worth no praise.. but its really much yummy than my previous ones... by at least 3 times... there's this interesting tangy orangy flavor in it ( I blended orange skin!! The orange skin is like the human skin - nurses use them to practice giving shots - but more relevant-ly for cooking, the skin has a lot of flavor... their oily glands produce a good amount of orangey zest... kinda like an adoloscent's face... well. gross.. anwyay...)
And this time my cake didn't crack and its not crumbly.. so its really smooth... I think an additional reagent really does help it alot.. (Ya.. I added radioactive Uranium in my cake.. mutated my bacteria in sour cream..)
Anyway here's my little journey -
I spent about one hour making the crust, and the batter...and baking.. and tada:
That's the mini cheese cake batch... I added chocolate to the top and it caused the cake to crack a little at the top.. oh well... it won't matter as you'll find out later...
Yup a close up and you can see that piece of nearly melted chocolate making a dent in the cake...
Well.. its like a meteorite that landed and smashed into cheesecake plannet...
Bla....
Here's my main cake in the oven.. I used a tiny one..about 4++" as I found out.. a 9" cheese cake is ALOT.... its hard to finish.. and really bad for health... I believe if cheesecakes were to be eated after a meal.. they should be tiny.. like mini cheesecakes..
I just attended a birthday bash at cheesecake factory and oh man... I couldn't finish my slice!! but it was good..
Anyway....
For the first time, I played around with making chocolate glaze... ohh.. this was fun... it wasn't too difficult to make so I tried playing around with the recipe a little.. I added a little bit of coffee (Although I hate coffee like anything).. for that caffeinated sting...
I like that in good chocolate..
in Any case, I started pouring glaze all over.. not easy... its consistency makes it kinda hard to estimate how much glaze to add before it overflows...
Anyway, I got my other cake out and glazed it and left them in the refrigerator over night....
so this is what I got in the morning:
And I decided to add some creamer (lol I didnt have icing) for contrast:
I then started working on my second glaze on the cheesecakes - you know, use a cone and draw sguigly lines?:
Well.. it turns out to be harder that I thought.. the consistency of the glaze makes it a little hard to control... and somethings just don't look right...
For example:

Meet mr Mutated Eyes smiley man.. -).. hey! he has a dimple!

Tried to do something nice.. but hmm.. it just looks.. boring...

Star of David... =)
Kinda outa shape

Not very well drawn treble clef..
Well, most of them looked rather kiddy... I guess the least bad design was the simply stripes thingie:

And I did that for my bigger cake:

Yup.... It took a while to get all these done...
But ... hmm.. I had a trial taste yesterday and it was Good.. I let Emily try it too and yup.. it was definitely a jump from my previous ones... I'm excited - so now I don't need to go to a restaurant for cheesecakes! =)
And I don't have to buy those dry frozen ones from the groceries.. I've got my own moist and tangy cheese cake complimented by smooth dark chocolate.. and a glaze accented with brandy and coffee... mmmm...
Here's the final product:

Mmm.... ok.. I think I'm going to have one for breakfast!..
