The "LeeFang? Leaf? Ohh..ok Lisa!!" Tan Trip... Pt I

Welcome to Seattle Lifeng!!
=D...

I had to drive all the way up to vancouver to pick her up after her international debate competition, and drive her all the way back down to Seattle in traffic... and how I was compensated?
5 cutesy bars of Chocolate!!
Haha.. well, she also bought me expensive pre-sliced fruits for breakfast... and many more during the trip...

Anyway, First day was UW tour!
Our very humble #1 medical school failed to impress her... our labs were... like labs.. our hospital.. was like a hospital...hey - we don't spend on superlatives.. but the oil paintings of deans did catch her attention... BAh!.. old men....
=D

But as we got into the main campus, the Gothic architecture really inspired her..
(Score!!!)... This is Suzallo lib... the most amazing lib ever ever ever...

Look at us checking out the ancient volumes like amazingly smart scholars...
I think I look the most authentic.... =D Only smart people deep in thought look up into the ceiling when they are holding about 4 books in their hand while reading one..

BRrrrrr...... Oldest building.. + Bell tower...

A whole day of picture taking and its time for

Culinary Arts!
Those of you who know her well.. know that she kinda like ... healthy or .. bland food...
So we had some sort of Iron Chef competition with the secret ingredient: BLAND water....

Lol... the only way you can win a debate with a top scholar and an international debator is to mumble your argument very loudly and confidently at the end and quickly shut off the camera ... =)

Dinner!.. Cheers!
Well.. ok honest opinion on who won?

I DID!!... for blandness!! haha.. She wanted chicken soup! I'm like trained with flavorful french-styled cuisines.. I don't know how to cook bland stuff...

BUt LiFeng... I was really really impressed... her Cabbage was actually YUMMY!... Although it was slightly bland, it had the right mixture of flavors, and texture...
Lol... our differences in culinary stylings caused us to start cooking our own seperate meals after a few days!
lol!.. which was bad - I was subconsciously trying to compensate her dish with mine.. and it ended up with my dishes being too sweet, salty and whatever... argh! She destroyed my cooking skills!
Grrr!

an After dinner Night view from my rooftop

Yup.. that's us there! just look for the shadows.. haha..brrr.. Feng was cold so we didn't stay up there for too long.. which was dumb... It's such a nice scenery! I'd freeze for a view like this!

Next day: We drove through a snowy mountain pass to get to Leavenworth - a Bavarian village...

I had trouble putting on my snowchains...and a cop came to help - which was really weird.. cause most cops are burly big bullies...
After he helped us get it on, Miss Feng insisted on a picture with him.. and he was slightly startled! haha...
No idiot takes a pic with a cop.. or would a cop let anyone - they may grab his gun.. etc... but I guess Feng looked sweet and innocent enough...

Anyway... I was wondering why the cop did not book me for an outdated RoadTax sticker( I hadn't paid my road tax then)...
and I found out why:

The snow covered my top right hand corner where the roadtax sticker should be!!

*Phew!!*

Anyway, my snowchains flew off on the way back, it sliced and chaffed of paint from the corner of my car.. ... OUCH....

Anyway, we had packed lunch - courtesy of my housemaid.. I mean housemate.. Feng..
MMmmm.. I totally hate cold food...

Leavenworth!! Feng's not really a shopping person...
Most people I bring, would like spend hours in all the shops...
We ended up walking and exploring the non-frequented parts of town...
Which turned out to be really fun!
She also snowtubed for the first time in her life with a couple of kids.. =D...
She was grinning so much that for a moment, I thought I lost her in a crowd of kids..

We did drop by a christmas shop that sold this:

A DVD that filmed a fireplace!!!!
?!?!??!!??!?!
Thats the most ridiculous thing I've seen!

Anyway, as we walked,

I got pelted by a tiny girl....ahhhh!

And I nearly got her back... until I realised she was holding on to my camera... DANG....

So walks in the snow were fun... Feng had an old sneaker with her... and she was pretty unfamiliar with walking on snow especially on slopes.. so I was like her moving walking pillar..I had to walk REALLY STILL and REALLY Slowly.. like a pallbearer or something..so that she could hold on to me as she shuffled her way across the snow.. ( I'd rather carry her... that way, when I fall, I'd have something to cushion my butt.....)

Well, after the walks... snow melted and wet her socks.. her toes got so cold.. that she had to....

Haha... warm her toes at the Heat ventilation grate at the CITY HALL building!!
Lol.. fortunately the mayor wasn't like walking through or something! haha... that'll be fun...

On our way back there's this tiny church I always bring my friends to:

Its a fun place for kids...
There's even a pulpit in there...

Despite being the president's scholar and a debator, her sermons are AWLFULLY boring....
I think President Nathan made a mistake man...he should have chosen me!
I can give the most entertaining speeches while standing on my left leg and waving my right arm.... now that's the right criteria for a scholarship!
